Festivals and auction

Catawba festival was fun to see . Found some old pots of mine in an antique booth . Then on to Seagrove to take some work for Ben's next woodfiring . I will be missing  it due to NCECA .. A group of the Seagrove potters are having  kiln openings April 18-19 .......Sat. April 18 is also the  NC Pottery Center annual auction ...Auction donations are currently on view at the center.

Check penland.org for a kiln and pottery making workshop . Shane Mickey does a good job .. and what could be better, spring in the mountains and good food in the dining hall ..

Making a few small jugs today .  This may at the moment be classified a "dry "county but go take a look on the sides of the roads and the recycle center bins ..Pottery wins out over plastic , that homemade stuff could burn a hole in the plastic .

Went to the opening last night . A nice group of pots of Nick Joerling's are on view . The main floor show is very nice and the downstairs has  an invitational wood show . Do yourselves a favor and go enjoy some outstanding work .
